How To Order

If you see some items you want, simply click on the items you intend to order and click on the "Buy Selected Items" button. The shopping cart will ask you what shipping method you want to choose, and will give you a grand total for everything. After I get your order, I will try to reply as soon as possible (remember I only do this on the side, usually in 1-4 days) and let you know that it has shipped.   If you decide to mail payment, your books are NOT held for you. Many people order and never send payment, so I only process an order when money is received. Usually everything is OK though. When you send payment, please print your order form, or at least include your order number so I can process your order faster.

Calling in an order: Remember that Scott's Comics is a part time business, and I am the only employee. Due to the low number of phone orders and the lack of time I am actually around my business phone during normal hours, I no longer accept phone orders. If you are uncomfortable giving your card number on the internet, I suggest sending your payment through the mail. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause you, and I do want your business, but remember this is a one man show.

The best way to place an order is to use the shopping cart on the site. I installed it to make life easier on you and me. I cannot tell you if all books are available (it would take me a few minutes to crank up the computer) - and the odds are 95%+ that if it is listed, I have it.

Please e-mail with any specific questions about certain books as the books are in my warehouse and not usually near the phone. I am sorry I don't have the time to send you individual scans of books.

Payment Methods:

	Credit Cards - Visa, MasterCard, Diner's Club, American Express, and Discover. If you are placing an order over the shopping cart you will be using our secure server. If you simply e-mail me your card number, you are taking a risk of your number being copied by another party! My mailing address is PO. Box 28092 Raleigh, NC 27611. Please give me the name on the card and billing address. If you want to use someone else's card, please let them place your order.  Choose "Mail" on the shopping cart. Credit Cards for United States Shipments to credit card billing address:  Scott's Comics gladly accepts Master Card, Visa, Diner's Club, American Express, and Discover and prefers to ship to the credit card billing address to reduce the possibility of credit card fraud. Scott's Comics does verify if the shipping address does match the credit card billing address, and we will not ship if it doesn't match. Credit Cards for United States Shipments to non-credit card billing addresses:  Scott's Comics accepts shipping addresses that are different than the credit card billing address. I understand you may want your shipment shipped to your work address or to a friend's address. However, this greatly increases the risk of credit card fraud on my side. I lose, not the bank, if the card is used fraudulently. If we have done business in the past, I will gladly ship to another address. I am sorry to have to do this, I just have to be careful taking credit cards, and I need to be sure you are who you say you are. I may contact you for more information if an order is placed like this. Also, Scott's Comics will not accept any orders that bill to one country and ship to another. Credit Cards for Foreign Orders:  My credit card billing bank doesn't have the capability to verify your address to see if the card is being used legally.  I lose, not the bank,  if the credit card is stolen. So I have to be very wary of foreign orders, and may deny larger first orders. We also will not bill to one country and ship to another. Due to high incidents of credit card fraud, I will not ship credit card orders to the following countries: Romania, Indonesia, Singapore, Ghana, Ukraine, Uganda, Nigeria, Hungary, Belarous, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovak Republic, Russia, Yugoslavia, Macedonia, Phillipines, Thailand, Malysia, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Libya, and Sudan. I will be glad to ship an order to any of these countries if you send an international money order in US funds. If you want to use credit cards, you may use one of the other payment methods below or sign up for paypal below - they have many countries that they are able to verify and you can use your credit card that way. I will accept paypal if you address and account is verified.
	Paypal: A free service, lets users send and receive money online. PayPal charges the money to your credit card or bank account. It's faster, safer and easier than mailing a check.    Transfer the money to your bank account at any time. No strings attached.  Click here on this link to sign up and see for yourself. It's that easy! Please remember, for me to accept your payment through paypal, your address needs to be verified through their system.  If you are a US acount, using credit cards it is usually pretty quick.
	Check - Unless we know you, this will likely delay your shipment for two weeks for clearance. Checks must be drawn on U.S. banks. Returned checks will be charged $5, and your shipment delayed until payment is received.  Please include a copy of your invoice, or the order number with your payment. Not including this will delay your shipment as I have to dig through lots of old e-mail. Please remember, I will not pull books until I receive payment, so please understand there is a possibility that the books you ordered may be sold by the time I receive payment!
	Money Order - Best way to pay by mail, and must be drawn on U.S. banks.  Please include a copy of your invoice, or the order number with your payment. Not including this will delay your shipment as I have to dig through lots of old e-mail. Please remember, I will not pull books until I receive payment, so they are not reserved!
	Western Union - If you want me to get cash fast, I will be glad to take money that way. However, you must pay all fees, and be sure when you send it, I will get the total of the order. (For example, I had a customer order $205 worth of stuff and he not realize that they charged to send the money. When I received the money it was around $191. The customer should have sent an amount so I would receive $205). Since I have to go fill out paperwork, and make a special trip to get the money, the minimum order is $50 to be sent this way.
	Cash - We accept cash in orders but advise against it, since we cannot be responsible for cash lost in the mail. If you must send cash, be sure to wrap it so it cannot be seen through the envelope. Please don't send coins!!!  For your protection, have me sign for the payment! Please include a copy of the books you ordered with your payment.

Shipping and Hangling Fees(Continental United States)

Shipping charges are affected by a variety of factors, especially when shipping to non-US destinations. Approximate delivery times will be shown on your shopping cart before you place an order. Please note these time frames are only estimates, and apply from the time your order is mailed, not from the time your order is placed. Unlike, most comic shops, I will usually e-mail you when your order is shipped.

Scott's Comics doesn't charge exact shipping cost with orders. Other costs are factored into your order such as: reproduction of your invoice, computer costs, packaging supplies and boxes, vehicle cost, internet fees, and credit card fees if the order is charged. To maintain my low prices,a wide selection, and to not have a minimum order, I am forced to pass some of these costs on to the customer, especially on small orders, and that is why "exact" shipping is usually not charged.  My minimum shipping fee is $4.99, no matter the size of the order. United States orders over $50 are shipped FREE!

Scott's Comics not responsible for any uninsured packages lost by the Post Office. Please insure your orders for your protection. All U.S. orders are tracked for no additional fee.

Shipping (Continental United States)

Bound Printed Matter (US Mail) (Book Rate) usually arrives in 7-10 days.  Comics and magazines only at this rate.
• Priority Mail   may take 2-3 days after it leaves my warehouse.  Any items may be sent this way.
• Parcel Post  is needed only if you order non-comic items.  Usually takes 3-5 days after it leaves my warehouse.
• If you need an alternative shipping method - express mail, parcel post - please ask!!

Shipping (Outside Continental United States) is shipped via the Post Office. My shopping cart has an average rate for all countries so actual shipping to your location may be more or less. If the actual shipping differs from the actual cost by more than $3, I will refund you the difference minus a $3 handling fee since processing foreign orders is more much more time intensive and I get more questions about them than standard US orders. If you do not agree with the shipping quote from the shopping cart, please do not order.

• Note: The Postal Service recently overhauled and streamlined foreign shipping. However, it eliminated most really cheap shipping rates, like Letter Post Surface. Surface mail is no longer available for most smaller shipments. I do not use Postal Service Flat Rate envelopes because I have had problems in with the comics arriving damaged, even if I added heavy cardboard. All orders will be shipped in boxes. I will insurance and/or track shipments if it is available to your country.
• Priority Mail International should arrive 6-10 days after mailing.
• Priority Mail Flat Rate Box should arrive 6-10 days after mailing. This is a box that will hold roughly 25-30 standard comics and allow for plenty of padding. You will save money using this if you order 20-30 comics. If you order thick comics (giant size or annuals, consider them as 2 comics each). Remember, with this option you are paying the same for shipping if you order 1 comic or 28 comics.
• First Class International should arrive 1-3 weeks after mailing, depending on your country. This is the cheapest option if you order less than 12 standard comics. There is a maximum weight here of 4 lbs. If you want to order more than that, you'll need to choose a more expensive shipping rate.
