SELL COMICS TO SCOTT'S COMICS
Scott's Comics is interested in buying
your comics, if there are issues that we need. If we do not list the item,
the more interested we are in the books.
- Any 1960's - 1970's comics,
especially major titles such as Spider-Man, X-Men, Batman, Superman, Avengers,
Fantastic Four and such.
Minor titles wanted also and oddball titles.
- Batman, Detective Comics, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Robin issues not already in stock.
- Sonic The Hedgehog, especially issues #1-17, 19, 22, 23, 25, 39, 48, 82, 86, 89-103, 107-115 and any others not already in stock.
- Any X-Men or Uncanny X-Men issue not
already in stock, and any issue not already in stock in near mint. All
issues of Uncanny X-Men below #143 are needed.
- G.I. Joes (one of my best selling titles)
Especially #1-25, 80-120, 132-134, 139, and 150-155. I will buy any Joe title
not already in stock, and pay top dollar for #21, 94-96, 150-155. Especially
wanted: GI Joe Special #1 which contains McFarlane art. I repeatedly pay over
Overstreet Price Guide for some G.I. Joe issues I need.
- Transformers #70-80
- All 1960s-1980s War, Horror, Western,
Cartoons, and Romance
- Valiants - especially pre-Unity,Gold editions, variants, and issues published after 1994. I will not buy glut issues from mid-1992 to 1994 that I sell for 50 cents.
- Cartoon Comics such as Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Pinky and the Brain, etc.
- Trade Paperbacks of current ongoing
titles, especially ones out of print.
- Recent hot comics as Superman/Batman, Teen Titans,
Ultimate Spider-Man, etc.
- Complete sets of mini series, especially Marvel and DC ones featuring major characters not already in stock. Those that were never reprinted in trade paperback form are more desirable.
>I don't want: most early 1990s books, issues of not long running discontinued titles published in the 1980s to present, single issues of mini series, and manga titles. There are exceptions to this rule, but for the most part I am likely to pass on these types of books.
If you have books you want to sell, please
e-mail
us a list with title, issue number, and condition- not as an attachment, just copy and paste it in the
e-mail. Include a price that you want for the lot.
Scott's
Comics gets so many offers to buy, it gives us the unique position to pick and
choose the best deals. I will either say yes, no, or make a counter
offer. Due to the hectic nature of the internet business, I need you
to take the first step and let me know what you want for the
books. Otherwise, I will just move to the next
seller. If I bought everything that was offered to me, I would be broke, so I am choosy. Make me a deal I cannot refuse and I will more likely buy!
If you are new to the comic business, let me educate you a little on it. Your expectations of worth are probably not realistic especially if your collection is comprised of mostly 1980s to present. There are not people lining up to buy your set of Reign of Superman and Mantra, or Captain Atom #17-26. Even in older comics, only a few major titles are steady, but not quick sellers. Based on Overstreet or Wizard, your collection may be worth hundreds or thousands, and it may be an impressive collection, but I am not intrested in paying Overstreet because I am trying to make a profit. If I pay $5 for a comic and sell it for $5 it doesn't help me pay for my costs or time. If you are a collector that wants top dollar for your collection you need to go into business for yourself, and it may take you years to move your collection. You take the time to sell them, scanning them, bagging and boarding them, grading them, setting up at shows, ebay fees, website fees, taxes, rent, packing them up to ship, etc. You will also find that some books sell quickly and some will sit, and sit, and sit and never sell at full price. If you decide to go that route, and allow your collection to be cherry picked, the leftovers that you cannot sell will be even less attractive to a dealer in the future. So not unless you are willing to do the selling yourself, forget getting full guide for any comics from a dealer.
Generally I pay 10-50% guide for books I can
use, depending on grade and demand. On common, low demand 1980s and above books (like Darkhawk, Ms. Tree, Death's Head, etc.) I can
generally pick them up for 5-10 cents per book in bulk. These are issues that I am likely to not sell at full price and I want to discount them to move them. Due to space issues, I would rather buy the books I can use (and I already don't have in stock) and you keep the slower selling material. If you are trying to sell me books I already have listed on my site, the more likely I am not going to want them, or not want to pay a high price for them. As I mentioned above, do the selling yourself if you don't like what I am telling you.
I will treat you fairly, if you treat
me fairly. I have hundreds of successful buys with very few nonsuccessful. Those
that were unsuccessful were when a seller sent me badly overgraded books. If it
has stains or folds, it isn't a near mint. Check out the Comic Book Grading Link before sending any comics to us.
Unless I have dealt with you before,
ALL books must be sent to me for inspection before I will pay for
them. I will not ask you to send the books if I do not intend on buying
them.
ALL payments for
completed transactions will go out within 48 hours
I will pay U.S. bound printd matter insured
shipping for all completed transactions greater than $20. However, if we cannot
not agree on a price or the transaction doesn't conclude for whatever reason,
you will be responsible for return shipping. (I will never ask you to pack up
and send books that I do not intend to buy)
You must pack your
books securely in a box surrounded by packing material so if the box is dropped,
the books will be cushioned from damage. If you send your books in a manila
envelope with no protection, be prepared for them to get to me damaged. Do not ship buches of books unless they are in a heavy box that can handle a drop.
