SHIPPING AND HANDLING
Shipping charges are affected by a variety of factors, especially when shipping to non-US destinations. Approximate delivery times apply from the time your order is mailed, not from the time your order is placed. You'll receive an e-mail when your order ships.
All orders are shipped in boxes. We do not use floppy manila envelopes so you can get your books in the best possible condition.
scottscomics.com doesn't charge exact shipping cost with orders. Other costs are factored into your order such as: credit card fees, packaging supplies and boxes, printing, computer costs,and vehicle cost. To maintain my low prices,a wide selection, and to not have a minimum order, I am forced to pass some of these costs on to the customer. However, United States Economy orders over $60 are shipped FREE!
UNITED STATES. Bound Printed Matter (in some cases Media Mail) (US Mail) usually arrive in 4-10 business days after mailing. This type of shipping is FREE for orders over $60. Just choose it when checking out. Priority Mail should arrive in 2-3 business days after it leaves my warehouse.
FOREIGN. Shipping (Outside Continental United States) is via USPS. There is a $3 handling fee for all Foreign shipments since they are more much more time intensive and I get more questions about them than standard US orders. If you do not agree with the shipping quote from the shopping cart, please do not order.
First Class International is good for orders under 4 pounds only (about 12-15 standard comics). Priority Mail International should arrive 6-10 days after mailing. Priority Mail Flat Rate Box should arrive 6-10 days after mailing. This is a box that will hold roughly 25-30 standard comics and allow for plenty of padding. You will save money using this if you order 20-30 comics. If you order thick comics (giant size or annuals, consider them as 2-3 comics each). Remember, with this option you are paying the same for shipping if you order 1 comic or 28 comics.
Remember, the books will be shipped from the US to your county. Remember, I will add insurance if possible.
We will put the total cost and an accurate description of the items on the customs forms. We will not misrepresent to customs and call the shipment a gift or it has no value. Please don't ask us to lie so you can save a little money! You are responsible for any taxes and customs fees.
Scott's Comics accepts returns for everything we sell. However, some types of returns may have a restocking fee (maximum $5/item). Also, do not return ANYTHING until we tell you to do so. We will NOT reimburse shipping for unauthorized returns.
If there is a problem with your order, we need to know in TWO BUSINESS DAYS
LOST ORDERS.If your order is lost, we will not file a claim for at least 3 full weeks after shipment to give orders time to arrive, unless tracking indicates otherwise. We give USPS tracking for every order, so please use that to see your e-mail (check spam folders) to where your package is located.
DAMAGED IN TRANSIT.We will credit your account with us, refund you, or reship all or part of the order, as appropriate. Keep the packaging! We may need it to file for insurance on the package; it may be difficult to refund you if we aren't able to process our claim. If we need you to return the shipment, we will reimburse you for basic ground shipping or provide a return label.
OVERGRADED COMICS. If feel we have overgraded a book, we MAY (see behavior note below) reimburse you for basic ground shipping or provide a return label. Otherwise you are responsible for paying shipping on what you feel are overgraded books.
SHORTAGES. If we have sent you the wrong book or failed to send a book, please let us know, within TWO business days of receipt. We will credit your account, refund you, or ship the proper item, as appropriate. If we need you to return an item, we will reimburse you for basic ground shipping or provide a return label.
OTHER RETURNS. If you don't like the comic, already have it, you wanted a newsstand copy instead of direct sales, etc. we charge a 15% restocking fee (maximum $5/book) for ALL returns that are not the fault of scottscomics.com, and we WILL NOT reimburse return shipping.
HOW TO PACK YOUR RETURN. We will not accept any returns that are not packed between heavy cardboard or in a box. If possible use the box the item was shipped in. Underpacked books (like sticking a comic in a manila envelope) are usually damaged and we will be refuse them and return them to you unopened. Also, include some notation to identify the book with you (like, name/address, etc.). Otherwise, your return may have delays in processing

Unfortuneatly, every order doesn't result in a satisfied customer. How you respond will greatly impact any offer from us to make you a satisfied customer. Customers with realistic expectations, are understanding, nice, and are looking forward to making other orders are more likely to receive assistance. Contrast that with the customer that is mad as h***, hates Scott's Comics, will never shop here again, and has a poor attitude.
There is a logical explanation for this! If we offer a customer with a positive attitude some assistance, like picking up return shipping on an overgraded book, we hope to make that customer happy and will hopefully keep the customer for life. In contrast, the customer with a negative attitude and will never shop with us again is money wasted. Why spend $3-$10 (or more) if the customer isn't going to be happy? The only thing that's changed is that we've saved $3-$10.
Again, if we make an error, we will try to make it right. But, life isn't perfect and mistakes do happen. But there's no need to use foul language because you would grade a Spider-Man as very good that we graded as fine. We would rather you shop somewhere else.
